Hurricane season officially started June 1st, and weather experts are warning folks along the Atlantic coast to get ready for a busy year. 2025 hurricane season predictions show an above-normal season with plenty of storms headed toward the East Coast over the next six months.

Atlantic hurricane predictions don't look great for people still cleaning up from last year's Hurricane Helene mess. That storm killed 248 people and wrecked billions of dollars worth of property across the Southeast, proving hurricanes can destroy communities hundreds of miles from the ocean.

What Forecasters Are Saying

2025 Atlantic Hurricane Forecast (WFN)

NOAA hurricane forecast numbers are pretty sobering this year. Weather scientists expect between 13 and 19 named storms, with 6 to 10 of those turning into full hurricanes. The scary part? They're predicting 3 to 5 major hurricanes with winds over 111 mph.
