The Weather Company has revealed its November outlook, offering a sneak peek into what you can expect beginning next week. What parts of the country will see an early start to winter, and where will fall hang on for a bit longer? Read on for all of the details of the long-range forecast.

Where Winter Will Be Slow to Arrive

El Niño is in firm control of the weather heading into November. The intensification of this climate phase is impacting which parts of the U.S. will see an early start to the winter season. For the most part, fall will keep its hold on the nation. The exception to this will be across California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. These parts of the western U.S. are expected to see temperatures hover slightly below the norm for November.

The greatest departure from normal temperatures will be in the northern tier of the country. Temperatures will land well above normal for parts of the Upper Midwest and the Great Lakes, including parts of the Dakotas and nearly all of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Keep in mind that this is also traditionally one of the chilliest spots in the country, meaning that any unseasonable warmth may feel in line with normal November temperatures elsewhere.

Temperatures are also forecast to bounce around above the norm down into the Mississippi and Ohio River valleys. The warmth will stretch as far as the interior Northeast.

The mercury is forecast to hit just slightly above normal readings for the eastern Rockies and down into the Four Corners region. This will also be the case for most of the southern Plains, the Southeast, and the major urban areas that dot the Interstate 95 corridor.

Average temperatures are on tap for New England, Florida, portions of the Gulf Coast, most of the central Rockies, the interior West, and the Pacific Northwest.
