In the middle of countries with exquisite tourist locations, Algeria may not be first on people’s minds for places to travel. Morocco has colorful souks or marketplaces, and Tunisia has resorts on the beach that lure numerous travelers every year.

Algeria has many hidden spots that deserve more attention, but are hidden behind headlines of civil conflict. Within Algeria are Saharan dunes, very nice water on the Mediterranean coast, and much more. For a country that’s mostly desert, it features some remarkable areas to explore.
