Enjoy the springlike weather while you can if you live in the central and eastern portions of the U.S. While it will feel like the middle of April in this corner of the county this week, winter is going to rear its head once again just in time for the weekend.

Here is what you need to know about the anticipated change in the weather pattern in the coming days.

Seasonable Weather to Return to the Central and Eastern U.S.

A dramatic shift in the weather is in store for the central and eastern U.S. by the end of the week. The current dry and unseasonably warm weather will be replaced with much cooler temperatures and the chance of wintry precipitation.

The change will be triggered by the arrival of cold air coming down from Canada meeting up with a storm system forecast to eject out the weather in the Rocky Mountains and push to the east.

How stark will the change in mercury register? After seeing readings in the 50s for daily highs for most of the week, places such as Minneapolis will return to daytime temperatures in the 30s and 40s for the weekend and into the early part of next week.

It has been an exceptionally sunny start to February according to the Great Lakes weather forecast, along with the Ohio Valley, and the Northeast. The mercury will continue to be on an upward trajectory during the second half of the week as the warmth spreads farther north and to the east.

How much warmer will it get?
