Despite the warmer temperatures in the coming days, the stormy weather pattern for the eastern U.S. is not quite over. A midweek clipper system and a weekend storm will both keep the wintry impacts still in the picture for millions of Americans from the Great Lakes and into the Northeast and New England. Read on for a closer look at the precipitation threats waiting on deck this week.

Alberta Clipper Storm Pushing into the Great Lakes and the Northeast

An Alberta clipper storm will serve to remind many in the northeastern quadrant of the country that winter is not quite over. Just as that system dissipates, another weather maker will set up in time for the weekend. The unsettled weather pattern is a continuation of the string of impactful storms that have unleashed across much of the central and eastern U.S. since the beginning of the year.

The week is starting on a dry note from the Northeast and down into the Southeast, thanks to a large area of high pressure anchored over the region. However, this high pressure will begin to break up later in the week, paving the way for more storms to develop. The first storm of the week will slide down from Canada in a typical Alberta clipper fashion.
