Duo of Storms Taking Aim at U.S. South This Weekend and Into Next Week

A pair of storm systems will bring double the amount of rain and the chance of severe weather throughout the South heading into the weekend. This active weather pattern is forecast to stick around into next week.

Here is what you need to know to prepare for the soggy and potentially dangerous weather.

Wet Weekend in Store for Gulf Coast and the Southeast

Forecasters are warning that some areas could see up to 6 inches of rain out of the duo of storms. Some of the storm cells could be so severe that tornadoes spin up.

The quick-hitting nature of the storms could also overwhelm storm drains, creating the risk of flash flooding. Although the moisture is good news for the ongoing drought that has taken over some parts of the Gulf Coast and the Southeast, the intensity of the storms present a number of dangers.
