Earthquake Shakes NJ and NYC Late Saturday Night

7 hours agoA mild earthquake struck northern New Jersey on Saturday night, sending brief tremors into New York City and prompting a flurry of late-night reactions.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (usgs.gov), the 3.0 magnitude earthquake occurred at 10:18 p.m. and was centered in Hasbrouck Heights, Bergen County. The quake originated about six miles underground, roughly 13 miles west of Midtown Manhattan.
Tremors Felt Across Northern NJ and NYC
Residents across Jersey City, Bergen, Morris, and Essex Counties, as well as in Upper Manhattan and The Bronx, reported feeling the ground shake. The tremors reportedly lasted up to 10 seconds in some areas.
