Extreme Weather Is Making Your Grocery Bill Absolutely Brutal

Jennifer Gaeng

In 3 days

Your grocery bill keeps getting worse, and it's not just corporate greed or supply chain issues. Extreme weather caused by climate change is jacking up food prices worldwide, and it's happening way faster than anyone expected.

A new study looked at how crazy weather between 2022 and 2024 sent food costs through the roof around the globe. We're talking about weather so extreme it broke every historical record from before 2020.

The Price Spikes Are Insane

Vegetable prices in California and Arizona jumped 80% in November 2022 compared to the year before. The reason? Brutal heat and water shortages that summer basically cooked crops in the ground.

Cabbage prices in South Korea shot up 70% last September after an August heatwave that made growing anything nearly impossible.
