A major late season winter storm is going to unleash measurable snow across a large portion of the north-central U.S. this weekend and into early next week.

Will your community be back in the grips of winter? Read on for all of the details of this weather event.

Winter Back in the Picture for the North-Central U.S.

It will feel like the dead of winter for much of the north-central U.S. in the coming days, including the chance of blizzard conditions.

The same weather maker that is forecast to support the development of severe storms beginning late Sunday over the nation's heartland will also have a cold side located to the north.

This wintry side will feature temperatures cold enough to generate snow in a long swath of land from Montana and into Colorado, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Some of the impacted areas may also see winds that are strong enough to produce blizzard conditions. It is not unusual for a storm that features both severe thunderstorms and heavy snow to set up over this part of the country during the month of March.
