2 months agoIt has long been Elon Musk’s dream to send humans to Mars. Since SpaceX’s formation in 2002, Musk has envisioned a way of using his company to build a colony on Mars, a historic step that centuries of astrologists would marvel at. Think of Galileo, Copernicus, or Ptolemy ever envisioning our species stepping foot on another planet.
The goal of colonizing Mars isn’t just for saying we can. The goal is to become a multi-planet species to bolster the chances of survival for the human species. "SpaceX's intent, Elon's intent in founding SpaceX was to enable humanity to become a multi-planet species, allowing us to establish cities on Mars," said Paul Wooster of SpaceX.
Behind Mars’ colonization, several steps need to be planned and issues to be resolved such as the human survival on the surface of Mars, getting there safely, and the glaring issue of transporting a city 140 million miles by rocket. Read ahead to learn how Elon Musk and SpaceX plan to get through these challenges and house the first humans to live on Mars.
