Swift's twelfth studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," is a continuation of the superstar's affinity for incorporating weather imagery into her songwriting. "Life of a Showgirl" Weather References
Anybody who follows the music industry knows that Swift has a knack for bringing natural elements to life through her lyrics, painting vivid pictures as the notes ring out. Once again, Swift has used the weather to connotate a variety of emotions, ranging from bright and sunny feelings to moody rain showers.
The bop "Opalite" is an example of one of the most striking references, quite literally. In this upbeat track, Swift sings "you were dancing through the lightning strikes" before noting "you had to make your own sunshine." The storm connotation comes up again when she references "thunder like a drum."
