The National Football League (NFL) recently released its schedule for the 2025 season. This makes now a fun time to look at what teams have to compete against Mother Nature the most due to location. While it is impossible to forecast what the weather will be like for any particular game day, meteorologists can look at historical trends to make predictions about how the weather may impact some of the upcoming games.

A recent report out of The Weather Company looked at averages to determine which of the 32 teams in the league may be dealing with the hottest, wettest, coldest, and snowiest games this year. The calculations did not include games scheduled for stadiums with domes or retractable roofs, as the weather is not a factor when protection is offered. Here is a look at what type of story the data told.

Warmest Five Schedules

When it comes to what teams should expect the toastiest weather of the year, it is no surprise to learn that the three teams based in Florida will likely face the warmest temperatures throughout the season. Coming in in first place for the warmest average high temperatures for outdoor games in 2025 is Tampa at 73.9 degrees. Over on the other side of the peninsula, the Jacksonville Jaguars will see an average high of 71.5 degrees throughout the season. Miami lands just below this at an average high of 70 degrees.

All three Florida teams have three home games scheduled from late September through the middle of October, a time of the year still known for warm conditions. The New Orleans Saints come in with the fourth-warmest schedule of the 2025 season with games expected to be played when temperatures average 67.1 degrees. The Carolina Panthers round out the top five at 67 degrees.

The Detroit Lions caught a big break with their schedule this year. While they only see the 13th warmest schedule in the league, the Lions only play one game outdoors after the middle of November. This will happen when they travel to Chicago for a game against the Bears in early January.
