Snowmelt flooding is predictable. That's the good news. The bad news is it can still wreck your house if you're not ready.

Winter snowpack melts with rising spring temperatures. The runoff overwhelms river systems, drainage infrastructure, and low-lying areas. Peaceful waterways turn into destructive forces.

National Weather Service says snowmelt causes approximately 30% of annual flooding events in northern states and mountainous regions and costs millions in property damage.

A single cubic foot of snow produces between 0.5 to 1.5 gallons of water when melted. Extensive snowfields release enormous volumes fast.
