ISS to Fly Over Eastern U.S. and Canada Tonight
Elena Martinez
YesterdaySkywatchers across the eastern United States and parts of Canada are in for a cosmic treat on Thursday evening, as the International Space Station (ISS) makes a bright and visible pass over the region—no telescope required.
When and Where to Watch
The flyover will begin at approximately 9:23 p.m. EDT, appearing low in the northwestern sky. The ISS will climb to its highest point in the sky around 9:26 p.m., before fading from view by 9:29 p.m. as it continues its fast-paced orbit.
Residents in major cities like New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., along with many towns across the Northeast and Midwest, will be in an excellent position to spot the station—provided skies are clear.
