A historic winter weather event is bearing down on a zone from Oklahoma to the Northeast, threatening to bring life to a halt for millions of Americans. We have all of the latest information on this developing storm. Read on for everything that you need to know.

Snow Already Firing Up as Storm Threatens Millions

A monster snow and ice storm is shaping up to be the most significant winter weather hazard in years for much of the U.S. Heavy snow is forecast to blanket a zone from the eastern slopes of the Rockies and into the coastal Northeast. Over 200 million Americans are in the crosshairs of this storm. Widespread snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are in the forecast, with the hardest-hit areas expecting 24 to 30 inches of snow.

Plowable snow is expected in a swath of land that stretches over 2,000 miles. A number of major metro areas are in the impact zone, including Denver, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Kansas City, St. Louis, Nashville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston.
