A dust storm in the Sahara, deadly flooding in China, and earthquakes in Taiwan are a few of the top global weather warning news this week.

Here is a more detailed look at what different corners of the planet have grappled with over the last few days.

Saharan Dust Storm Sends Particles Across Libya and Greece

It was an eerie sight in parts of Libya and Greece as a dust storm from the Sahara Desert was sent flying across the region late Tuesday.

Some of the most iconic spots of Greece, including the Acropolis in Athens, were covered in red and orange hues as a result of the massive dust storm.

It also looked apocalyptic in the Libyan cities of Derna and Benghazi as the dust moved over this part of Africa. Winds that hit speeds of 45 mph worked to move the dust storm across Libya and into the Mediterranean Sea and beyond.

The dust storm sent air quality readings plummeting in Derna, putting even healthy people at risk of experiencing difficulty breathing and other negative impacts.
