NOAA Issues Level 2 Threat for Ozarks and Beyond for Saturday
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Level 2 threat on its 5-point thunderstorm risk scale for a large swath of the Plains and the Mississippi Valley. The Ozarks are expected to be in the bullseye of this zone of severe weather on Saturday.
The chance of hazardous weather is coming as a cross-country storm makes its way down from the Rockies. This is the same weather maker that dumped record-breaking rainfall and significant snow accumulation across parts of California to start the week. The system is currently churning over the Rockies with minimal impacts.
