The moon will become a stunning red orb during Thursday night's total lunar eclipse - the first since 2022. Visible across the entirety of the United States and Canada, cloudy conditions threaten to block the show for millions of sky gazers.

Where and When to View the Blood Moon

This sky show unfolds over North and South America on the night of March 13-14, with western Europe, western Africa, and New Zealand catching the earlier stages of the eclipse.

Night owls are fortunate for this eclipse. East Coast viewers have to look up at 2:58 a.m. EDT for the peak performance, but West Coast viewers get a comparatively more reasonable viewing time - just before midnight local time.
