Californians have barely had time to catch their breath between storms lately. That trend will continue as yet another monster weather maker rolls up from the coast and spreads across the state that began late Saturday.
Here is what you need to know about the potential impacts of this upcoming storm system.
Wet Weather Pattern Continues for California With Another Storm on Deck
It has already been an exceptionally soggy week for the Golden State. An atmospheric river set up over the West Coast during the middle of the week, dousing California with heavy rain in the coastal areas and snow for the mountains on Wednesday and Thursday.
Unfortunately for those residents tired of the constant stream of moisture, another storm was predicted to come ashore late Saturday and into Sunday ushering in a number of potentially dangerous impacts.
Forecasters are warning that this weekend storm will bring in torrential rain that could trigger major flooding events.
Complicating the situation is the timing of the second storm hitting just a few days after the midweek event. This timing means that grounds are already saturated and waterways are filling up.
Any new rain that falls will exacerbate the risk of flooding and mudslides, particularly in the southern and central portions of the state.
