Californians tired of the persistent rain are not going to like the upcoming weather forecast. More heavy rain moving into Southern California and beyond will cause even more issues. There will be little reprieve from the risk of flash flooding as an active weather pattern remains in place over the Golden State.

Here is what you need to know about the dangers of the rain storm in California and the West Coast.

Another Rain Storm in California Bearing Down

While millions of Californians are cleaning up from the California storms flooding the region over the last few days, meteorologists are already tracking the next major weather maker predicted to move through the state in the coming days.

Although this storm will not be as potent as its predecessor, it will still be strong enough to dump significant amounts of rain and whip up the winds once again.

The latest storm started its push from the coastal areas of western Canada on Tuesday, expected to arrive in California by Wednesday. This storm will be smaller in size than the early week event. The origination of the storm from the north also means that it will not be packing tropical moisture like the last system.

The system is also moving along at a rapid speed, helping to lessen the damage when compared to the previous storm that stalled out over the state.

Winds coming from a different direction is the last element that will limit the impacts of the incoming storm. Rather than enhancing the moisture totals as was the case with the last system, the winds will mitigate the precipitation totals by pushing the storm along.
