Airports are turning into measles hotspots, and it's concerning health officials everywhere. Measles airport exposure keeps happening at busy terminals and popular vacation destinations where one sick person can infect hundreds of unsuspecting travelers.

Travel health risks are getting worse because more unvaccinated folks are flying around the world, and measles spreads like wildfire in crowded spaces. Someone with measles walks through LAX, and everyone in that terminal for the next two hours could get exposed.

Why Airports Are Perfect for Disease Spread

Airport disease transmission happens because measles is ridiculously contagious - way more than flu or COVID. When infected people cough or sneeze, tiny droplets float around in the air for hours.

Think about airports for a minute. Thousands of people from all over the world crammed into tiny spaces, breathing recycled air, touching the same surfaces, creating the perfect playground for measles.
