The month of November is getting off to a blustery start across the Great Lakes and the Northeast. A series of storms will churn through the region this week, bringing cooler temperatures and gusty conditions. Here is a look at the chilly and wet week ahead for this corner of the country.

Week to Kick off With a New Storm for the Northeast and Beyond

A NOAA Weather Prediction Center surface analysis valid November 3, 2025, shows two developing low-pressure systems—one over the Great Lakes and another off the mid-Atlantic coast—poised to deliver gusty winds and widespread rain across the Northeast.

The first week of the new month will bring a train of storms for a large swath of the Northeast and the Great Lakes. Forecasters are predicting that three to four storm systems will pulse through this region in the coming days, whipping up the winds, bringing down the temperatures, and unleashing a surge of precipitation.

Two different storm systems will be in place across the interior Northeast and the mid-Atlantic coastline beginning on Monday. The first storm will dip down from southeastern Canada, swinging through the Great Lakes before pushing into parts of New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
