Temperatures Forecast to Hover Above Seasonal Norms for Much of the U.S.
It was a dicey end to October for much of the country. While the western U.S. saw the arrival of the winter storm train coming from the Pacific, the eastern third of the country also saw volatile conditions heading into Halloween. This trend is continuing into the start of November with widespread storms throughout a good portion of the country.
The long-range forecast is predicting that temperatures will trend several degrees above the historical average in the central U.S. The greatest departure from normal will be across Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois. The eastern portions of Colorado and New Mexico are also expecting the mercury to reach unseasonably warm levels.
