The Pentagon released a new cache of UFO files on Friday, complying with a presidential executive order to make the information more accessible. What was in the latest batch of files? Read on for the details.

What is Inside the New UFO Files?

Several federal agencies, including the Pentagon, the CIA, the FBI, NASA, and the U.S. Department of Energy, released 40 new unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) files related to UFO sightings on Friday. This batch included 14 documents, four audio files, three images, and 19 videos. One report from a military aviator described the object in question as "unlike anything I had seen" in their 28 years of service.

During the STS-80 mission in late 1996, astronauts aboard Space Shuttle Columbia photographed an unidentified object in low-Earth orbit, visible near the center of the frame to the right of Earth's limb.

The latest documents were uploaded to a Pentagon website that houses the collection of files over the years. Roughly half of the new files are recent, dated 2010 or later. Some of the new evidence includes videos featuring infrared footage taken with military cameras. The grainy pictures and videos include unexplained objects from around the planet, including mysterious happenings over the Atlantic, the Middle East, and the western Pacific Ocean.
