A Delta regional jet pilot had to make a sudden hard turn to avoid smashing into a massive B-52 bomber while trying to land in Minot, North Dakota on Friday, and the whole terrifying incident is now under investigation.

SkyWest Flight 3788 was coming in for what should have been a routine landing when the pilot spotted an Air Force bomber directly in his flight path. The two aircraft came way too close to each other, forcing the commercial pilot to take immediate evasive action.

Nobody Warned the Commercial Flight

The scariest part? Nobody told the Delta pilot about the military aircraft. Audio from inside the plane shows the pilot explaining to passengers what just happened, and he sounds pretty shaken up.

"Nobody told us about it," the pilot said over the intercom. The B-52 was "kind of, sort of coming at us," and he had to make split-second decisions to avoid a collision.
