If you thought it was rough getting to your Thanksgiving destination, it is setting up to be even worse heading home. A major winter storm event is set to impact a zone from the Rockies and into the Great Lakes this weekend, bringing along heavy snow, ice, and severe storms to over a dozen states. Here is the latest on this developing situation.

Travel Headaches Mounting Across the Nation's Midsection

Motorists and air travelers will want to keep close tabs on the development of a budding winter storm that is going to disrupt travel throughout several U.S. states on the back end of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. This same storm event already dumped snow across western Montana on Thanksgiving.

Black Friday shoppers in Colorado and Wyoming were greeted by the white stuff as the snow line spread to the east. Some stretches of interstates 25, 70, 80, and 90 will be impacted by this weather maker.

A Weather Prediction Center map shows snow, mixed precipitation, and severe storms stretching from the Rockies to the Midwest, threatening major travel routes including I-25, I-70, I-80, and I-90 as the post-Thanksgiving rush ramps up. (NOAA/WPC)
