Much of the East will stay dry this week, though a coastal storm promises relief for parts of the Southeast and mid-Atlantic. (weatherforecastnow.com)

The stretch of dry weather is going to persist for much of the eastern U.S.; however, a few pockets of the region will get in on some much-needed moisture. Here is a look at who can expect rain in the days ahead.

Who Can Expect Rain This Week Out East?

Dry conditions are expected to reign across the Ohio Valley and the Northeast to start the new work week. It will be a different situation in the coastal Southeast and parts of the mid-Atlantic, where a coastal storm will translate to a wet stretch of days.

A large zone of high pressure will encourage an upward bulge in the jet stream for the majority of the eastern U.S. from the Gulf Coast and up into New England. This dry pattern will linger until at least Tuesday.

A strong high-pressure system will keep much of the Ohio Valley and Northeast warm and dry through early this week. (weatherforecastnow.com)
