Car owners beware! There's been a disturbing surge in the number of car recalls urging owners to that parking outside is safer due to a high risk of spontaneous fires.

This means millions of cars across the country pose a serious safety hazard, not just while driving, but even when parked and seemingly inactive.

The Urgency of "Park Outside" Recalls

"Ignoring a 'park outside' recall is simply not an option," emphasizes Mike Lavigne from Carfax. These recalls are issued due to a genuine risk of fire, regardless of whether the vehicle is running or parked.

The causes can vary, ranging from leaking brake or hydraulic fluids to faulty battery relay issues. The terrifying reality is that a fire can erupt even after the car has been parked and turned off for hours, potentially endangering your garage, home, and surrounding structures.

New research by Carfax reveals a significant increase in the number of vehicles affected by "park outside" recalls. With over 3.7 million cars still on the road, this represents a staggering 40% jump in less than a year.

Pennsylvania alone has over 171,000 vehicles under such recalls, highlighting the widespread nature of this problem.
