It may be difficult to get into the fall spirit his weekend across the Midwest. Unseasonably warm temperatures will make sipping that pumpkin spice latte seem out of place. How warm will it get in the days ahead? We have all of the details right here.

The mercury is on the upswing across the central U.S., challenging daily high records for much of the Midwest. It will feel more like the middle of the summer than the heart of the fall as temperatures climb into the 80s and 90s. Some of the toastiest areas could see all-time October records fall.

At least 10 states are expected to see the record-challenging heat stretching from Colorado to Michigan. The core of the heat will begin on Friday and last through Sunday. It will also remain dry during this time, amplifying the existing drought conditions in the central and eastern U.S.
