Hot off the presses, here is the latest look at how the weather is setting up as millions of Americans hit the road for Thanksgiving week. The short story is that it could be a rough go for travelers in the days leading up to the big day as a cross-country storm takes aim at the eastern two-thirds of the country. Here is what you should plan for in the days ahead.

Rain and Snow Likely to Impact Travel on Monday

According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), a record-breaking 82 million Americans are predicted to travel more than 50 miles away from home over Thanksgiving week. The upcoming weather maker could wreak havoc on both the roads and the skies. Forecasters are warning that the dynamic storm will carry a variety of impacts, including heavy rain, thunderstorms, and snow.

The central, southern, and eastern U.S. will all be under the gun for stormy conditions during what is traditionally one of the busiest travel times of the year. The storm started to develop early in the weekend, delivering heavy rain and mountain snow across portions of Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. The bulk of the snowfall will be confined to the highest elevations of the Four Corners region.
