It was quite a day of weather in California last Thursday. The Golden State experienced nearly a dozen weather phenomena in a period of less than 24 hours, ranging from flash flooding to wildfires to an earthquake. Here is a look back at all of the developments of this wacky day.

Flooding and Lightning and Landslides, Oh My!

Thursday brought a little bit of everything to California, starting with a dynamic storm system that triggered numerous impacts. Thursday's storm was the first of a duo of systems that unleashed across the state over the last few days. The torrential rain moved across Northern California on Thursday, generating at least a dozen landslides across several counties.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed multiple rock slides that affected a portion of State Route 162 North near the Oroville Dam. The National Weather Service (NWS) recorded at least 23 reports of disruptive flooding on many roads and highways.

The storm also came along with frequent lightning strikes. Nearly 200 lightning strikes were recorded in the central part of the state on Thursday. And where there is lightning, there is also thunder. All of this made for a crazy day of weather throughout much of the northern and central communities in the state.
