A 75-foot-tall Norway spruce tree is now in place at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The tree was put in place in the popular tourist square on Saturday morning by workers carefully using a giant crane. As is typical, the tree sits in front of the skyscraper that overlooks the iconic ice skating rink.

Tourists in town the next few weeks may be disappointed when they try to check out the tree. The towering tree is not scheduled to be lit until the official tree-lighting ceremony on December 3. Officials confirmed that about 50,000 multicolored LED lights will be strung up around the massive tree.
