First Big Snowfall of the U.S. of the Season Belongs to Colorado
The first full day of the astronomical fall in the U.S. also brought the first measurable snowfall of the season. The astronomical fall kicked off on Monday, September 22. Less than 24 hours later, Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado was the site of a wonderland. Winter weather advisories were issued for elevations over 9,000 feet.
Snowfall totals came in at nearly 9 inches in the hardest-hit areas across the Centennial State. The community of Glendevey picked up the most snow at 8.8 inches. Here is a look at a few more snowfall totals across the state of Colorado.
