Here is an update on this week's severe weather and a look into what is next.

Two Confirmed Fatalities After Tornadoes Touch Down in Tennessee

It was another night of volatile weather on Wednesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued tornado warnings for communities across Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Of these, Tennessee was hit particularly hard by the tornadic activity.

The Volunteer State recorded at least four tornadoes spinning up within the area of high winds. A 22-year-old man was killed in Claiborne County when a tree fell on his vehicle. The incident happened about one hour north of the college town of Knoxville.

Another fatality was reported in Columbia in Maury County, located south of Nashville. Search and rescue crews worked overnight in Maury County after a likely tornado touchdown.
