The middle of the week is shaping up to be a stormy affair for a zone from Texas to Missouri. A building storm system is forecast to bring heavy rain and thunderstorms across this wide swath of land beginning late Wednesday and lasting through Friday. Here is a look at what you can expect out of this weather maker in the days ahead.

South-Central U.S. Braces for Atypical November Severe Storms This Week

Torrential rain, severe thunderstorms, and damaging winds are bearing down on the south-central U.S. starting on Wednesday. The steady stream of moisture and its associated impacts will hamper travel across the region. The silver lining of these disruptions is that the rain will provide benefits to the parts of the region experiencing drought conditions.

The storm is part of the same system that delivered heavy rain to California and the Desert Southwest to start the week. Forecasters are predicting that this storm will continue its journey to the east, making its way to the southern and central Plains by the middle of the week. The heavy downpours will stretch from the central portion of Texas to the northeast into Missouri, southern Illinois, and the western edge of Kentucky.
