Tropical Storm Jerry Forecast to Become a Hurricane
The latest tropical storm is here. According to the newest update from the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Jerry was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph as it tracked to the west. The storm is racing across the central Atlantic at a speed of 24 mph. The satellite images show that Jerry is demonstrating signs of further organization as the rain showers and thunderstorms continue to wrap around the growing center.
The forecast models indicate that Jerry will move to the west before taking a turn to the northwest. This journey would take Jerry close to the Leeward Islands beginning late Thursday and into Friday. The major landmasses in the Leeward Islands include Antigua, Barbuda, Guadeloupe, Nevis, Saint Kitts, Saint Martin, and the Virgin Islands.
