Interests in the Caribbean, Bermuda, and the U.S. are being put on alert for the potential of two named tropical weather systems by the end of the month. The situation is developing quickly, making it important to stay on top of the latest forecasts. Here is what you need to know if you live in the potential impact zone.

Tropical Rainstorm Picking Up Steam as it Approaches the Caribbean

Afte a long and atypical September slumber, the Atlantic basin is finally starting to wake up. Meteorologists are predicting that there will likely be two new named features form in the days ahead. At least one of these disturbances is likely to evolve into a hurricane, while the other could take aim at the U.S. coastline.

The tropical wave that is currently spinning east of the Caribbean is now a tropical rainstorm. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) predicts that this feature will take on formal tropical characteristics shortly. This cluster of rain showers and thunderstorms was positioned about 700 miles to the east of the Leeward Islands in the northwestern corner of the Caribbean as of the Wednesday morning NHC update. The latest forecast models show this storm taking a path between Bermuda and the U.S. Atlantic coastline as it tracks to the northwest.
