The United States and Ukraine are working on a minerals agreement that represents a significant step towards strengthening relations and adding aid to help put an end to the years-long war in Ukraine.

In the war between Ukraine and Russia, the U.S. has developed relations on both sides, but in its foreign relationship with Ukraine, the U.S. has asked for key resources in exchange for bolstering Ukraine's geopolitical interests.

Among the resources that would be included are deposits of titanium, lithium, and graphite. The agreement consists of a joint Reconstruction Investment Fund, in which Ukraine will allocate 50% of future revenue from its natural resources.
