It is going to feel downright balmy in some areas of the south-central U.S. this week as the springlike warmth continues to build over the region.

Here is a look at how high you can expect the temperatures to climb, who will get in on this unseasonable warmth, and a sneak peek into weather this weekend.

Bulge in Jet Stream Will Usher Up Warmer Weather

A significant northward bulge in the jet stream by the middle of the week is forecast to bring up warmer weather from an area stretching from Texas and up into the central Plains.

The mercury is forecast to climb about 30 to 40 degrees when compared to the chilly readings from the beginning of the weekend. In addition to Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas can all look forward to this dramatic change in the weather.

Just how warm will it get?

Daytime highs are expected to climb into the 70s and 80s by the middle of the week. This will feel like a stark change from the 30s and 40s that were recorded at the beginning of the weekend. When looking at the historical averages for Texas weather in February for example, the temperatures will hover about 10 to 20 degrees above normal.
