After a week that brought widespread frost and freeze concerns, the Northeast is rebounding quite nicely with forecast highs approaching the 90-degree barrier in some places.

Does this weather pattern mean the end of the cold temperatures?

And how warm will it get?

Read on for all of the details that have millions of Americans in this part of the country reaching for sunscreen.

Upward Trajectory in Temperatures for the Northeast Heading Into New Week

A major shift in the weather pattern in the Northeast is sending the temperatures soaring right on the heels of unseasonably cool temperatures.

The weekend kicked off with a bit of rain and cloud cover, however, more sunshine is on the way. The dry conditions and influx of sun will help to push the mercury to levels not seen since last September throughout much of the Northeast in the coming days.

Some communities may even see readings inch up into the low 90s during this stretch of warmth.

When will the warmth kick in?

The forecast is calling for widespread high readings to hit the 70s and 80s beginning Sunday. Monday is likely to be the warmest day of the stretch.
