Mother's Day is on May 12, 2024. If your mother is still here, you need to celebrate her somehow. As you are laying out the plans, you may wonder what the weather will do.

While there is always some uncertainty when predicting the weather, here is what you can expect in different parts of the country.

New England Mother's Day Forecast

The weather should be cool, with highs in the mid-50s on Mother's Day in Southern New England.

Consider grabbing a light jacket before taking your mother to the Lowell National Historical Park in Lowell, Massachusetts, which celebrates the work done by women during the Industrial Revolution. The rain seen on Friday should be out of the area.     Alternatively, if you are in Northern New England, like Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, you can take your mother on a hike along the Wethersfield Heritage Walk in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

A few spotty showers may interrupt your hike, but plenty of places along the three-mile walk are dedicated to mothers and others who helped establish this region, where you can escape the raindrops. Temperatures should reach about 55 degrees, so bring a jacket.
