Cold air diving down from the north will clash with warm air flowing up from the south to create a wild weather pattern in the coming days across the Midwest and the Northeast. A classic tug-of-war between spring and winter will unfold over the Midwest and the Northeast through early next week. In addition to sudden changes in temperatures, the pattern will also usher in frequent rounds of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and accumulating snow.

Although there are no major storm events predicted for these regions, the unsettled nature of the weather will mean that nearly anything is possible across the Midwest and into the Northeast. The action kicked off on Friday when a weak clipper storm raced down from southeastern Canada and into the northeastern corner of the U.S.
