The death toll attributed to the weekend winter storm continues to mount. At least 25 fatalities have now been blamed on the massive storm that dumped heavy snow and ice across a large swath of the central, southern, and eastern U.S. Here is a more detailed look at the aftermath of this far-reaching storm.

Dozens of Fatalities Blamed on Winter Storm

Millions of Americans witnessed the wrath of Mother Nature over the weekend when a major winter storm unleashed in a zone from Texas to New England. Over 1 million customers were left without power during the peak of the activity as freezing rain turned to ice and brought down trees and power lines. This weather maker impacted three dozen states as it dumped some of the heaviest snow in years on many metro areas.
