While all eyes will be on the skies during the much-anticipated total solar eclipse on April 8, the moon completely blocking the light coming from the sun in some parts of North America will not be the only impact of this rare event.

The celestial wonder will also trigger a variety of impacts on the weather, the environment, an in animals for those in the path.

Here are a few surprising things to keep an eye out for as you plan for this special day.

Revelation of Stars and Planets

A total solar eclipse offers a rare chance to see some stars and planets shining brightly during the middle of the day. It makes sense as that as the moon moves over the sun to create darkness, sky watchers will be able to spot various celestial objects.

For instance, it will be easier to find Venus and Jupiter brightly shining on this day in the same part of the sky as the sun.

The alignment will also reveal the area of hot gas known as the corona that surrounds the blazing sun.

You can also keep your eye for meteors streaking across the sky during the time when everything goes dark.
