Early Look at the Forecast for the Last Day of 2023 and the First Day of 2024

While New Year's Eve is setting up to be mostly dry for most of the nation, a blast of cold air will make it a chilly night for most Americans. Here is a look at what you can expect for weather on New Year's Eve and heading into the new year on Monday.

Mostly Calm Conditions Expected on New Year's Eve Across the Country

Forecasters are predicting that there will be no far-reaching storm systems that impact the U.S. on New Year's Eve.

This forecast is quite the anomaly for what you can typically expect at the end of December and into early January. These largely calm conditions should make for easy travel, however, a few random areas of concern may pop up.

When it comes to specific city forecasts, the outlook is positive for the traditional New Year's Eve hot spots. For instance, the over 1 million people that are expected to gather in Times Square in New York City will see temperatures in the low 40s for the evening and as the clock approaches midnight.
