More details are emerging about the chance of snow this week in the northeastern U.S. Here is what you need to know as forecasters hone in on the details of this potential snow event while the January thaw becomes a thing of the past.

Chances of Snow Becoming Clearer in the Northeast

Snow is on the horizon in the Northeast this week, as frequent waves of cold air filter into the region. The colder temperatures will feel even more noticeable following the typical January thaw that made it feel more like early spring over the last several days.

Meteorologists began warning about the chance of snow for the East Coast last week. A fresh infusion of cold air is coming into the Great Lakes region by the middle of the week, supporting the development of wintry precipitation in the days ahead.

The latest forecast models signal that the snow will begin to fall across parts of Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio on Wednesday. This line of snow will push into the interior Northeast late Wednesday and early Thursday. The snow is likely to linger across portions of New England on Friday.
