Another week is ushering in another round of severe weather for a large swath of the central U.S. After a brief respite from the fury over the weekend, the storms are forecast to fire up again on Monday. Read on for a closer look at when and where you should expect the stormy conditions this week.

Dozens of states across the central U.S. will be under the threat of severe weather through Thursday. Potential impacts include destructive winds, hail, and tornadic activity. The ramp-up will come after a relatively calm weekend. The multi-day storm event will ignite on Monday in the Plains, eventually spreading farther to the east and the south as the week progresses. The first wave of storms will come as a cold front pushes through the region before a more potent storm rides along the frontal boundary.

The forecast models suggest that Tuesday and Wednesday will bring the most severe impacts. This is when tornadoes are most likely to spin up in a zone from eastern Oklahoma and Texas into Mississippi.
