Snowfall Records Fall Across the Great Lakes on Thanksgiving
The most significant lake-effect snow event of the season thus far delivered record-breaking accumulations to portions of the Great Lakes ahead of the holiday. The storm persisted into Black Friday, with forecasters warning that another system is coming in close behind.
The powerful storm unleashed snow heavy enough to force the closure of Interstate 90 to the south of Erie, Pennsylvania. Speed restrictions were enforced for a time on Thanksgiving morning.
