The upcoming week will feature two separate Southern storms roaring through a large part of the region, starting the week on a rocky note and bringing it to a close with more stormy conditions.

This threat will encompass much of the Gulf Coast and into the Southeast as the first week of astronomical spring gets underway.

Here is what you need to know about the predicted timing and intensity of these two weather makers.

Storm Sunday Will Linger Into Monday for Florida and Beyond

Although the middle of the week across the South will feature drier weather, two storm systems will bookend the rest of the week.

Both of these systems will bring the chance of heavy rain and severe impacts just in time for a not so happy spring equinox this Tuesday, March 19.

It was the northern portion of the Gulf Coast and into Florida that experienced the storm Sunday.

This active weather pattern will linger into the start of the new work week for the Sunshine State, ruining the plans of visitors that flock to this area for Spring Break vacations.

The forecast of storms is being blamed on a powerful cold front that is going to make its away across the Florida peninsula on Monday, stirring up trouble on its route.

Motorists using stretches of interstates 4, 75, and 95 should be mindful of the chance of severe weather. Potential impacts of this storm system include gusty winds and hail.
