Forecasters are becoming more certain in the predictions for a widespread tornado threat next week across the central and eastern U.S. Here is what you need to know about this looming weather pattern.

February to End on Fiery Note With Widespread Severe Weather

Approximately 50 million Americans are at risk for some degree of severe weather and tornadoes next week as the end of the February goes out with a bang.

Meteorologists have been warning about the risk of a multi-day severe weather outbreak for days. This outbreak could come with a number of impacts, including tornadic activity.

The bulk of the action will be focused on the Great Plains and into portions of the Ohio, Mississippi, and Tennessee valleys. A Tuesday and Wednesday storm are predicted to see the height of the activity.

By Thursday, the severe weather could stretch as far as the Appalachians and over into the coastal areas of the Atlantic.
